Art Exam by Amigoamiga Art Exam by Amigoamiga
No this was not taken on the pavement, it was taken on my art classroom floor XD
I promised some people that I'd upload a photo of my 10 hour art exam, and here it is. I uploaded it to my facebook via my phone, and then saved that photo and uploaded it here!
(WARNING: LONG NOTE! INTERESTING IF YOU ACTUALLY CARE)

Spring: I did a watercolour background in spring colours, and then I used black ink for the tree. I drew over the tree in white colouring pencil to make it look like bark (Hard to tell from this crap picture) I stuck buttons on to make some blossoms, and edged with black felt pen, and rimmed with the words SPRING over and over again (Hard to tell) Blue biro for details on sky.

Summer: Watercolour background, oil pastel for detail, white colouring pencil on black inked tree. Blue biro for details on sky.

Autumn: I soaked paper in yellow ink, let it dry and cut it into leaf shapes, I then aged the leaves with coffee and stuck them onto a watercolour background. I used oil pastel to add some extra details. Black ink for the tree, white colour pencil for details on tree. Black biro for details on leaves.

Winter (My personal favourite): I did a watercolour background and sprinkled some rock salt on, so it made a snowy background (Common artists trick XD) I scraped the salt off and used black ink for the tree, white colour pencil for the bark. I paint splattered some white paint on, then used a silver ink pen to make snow in the sky (And add the moon)

Size: A1

this may be a silly question but i honnestly dont know, what is biro? lol
As for your art the concept is amazing and you did a really good job exicuteing it, i wish i could see it in person so i could see all the textures. I love the vivid colors and the way the four peices fit together. I couldnt imagine doing all that in 10 hours or less (i just dont have the focus lol) Nice detail on the tree and im glad you used mixed media it makes it more interesting than if it was all just say water color which would be pretty but not nearly as kick butt lol

XD No problem. Biro's just like a ball point pen (I tend to use either black, blue or red for drawing)

It's much better in person, my camera on my phone kinda killed it XD
I was pleased with the results, seeing as I hate mixed media - but after constant hassling from my teacher I decided to venture away from my normal water colours and colour pencils.

Surprisingly, the 10 hours go very quick!
Thank you for the lovely comment  It makes my day :)

I also like the way that the panels are all different sizes.

The different sizes correspond to how much I like the season. The bigger the panel, the more I like the season. The smaller the panel, the less I like the season.

It actully stands for Advance Placement; it's a college class offered in highschools for the chance to get college credit. I forget sometimes, my school doesn't always call it the same thing as other schools.

I have family in Cuba, but I don't really keep in contact with them. But my godparents recently moved to Australia so I remain in contact with them.
Although this isn't really a different country I stay in contact with my mums side of the family over in Norfolk.

I quite like facebook XD

Oh yes, I remember you mentioning your Cuban family :)
Wow, are they having a nice time living in Australia?

Yeah, I understand actually. Most of my friends/family live in London, with a few friends in other places in England. :) So I know what you mean.

Facebook is good. It can be addictive.

Yeah, they love it over there. They moved there because two of their children moved there, and also my Godmother had chest problems due to pollution, so they decided to move to a less polluted country.

If you don't mind me asking, where where you born?

Haha! Understatement of the year!

This is truly one of your best pieces, and that's saying something. You are a VERY gifted artist with various forms of media. Most of us are only deft at using one or two. You clearly have mastery over several. If I were your art teacher, I would have given you passing grades for LIFE. Keep up the fantastic work. :iconbravoplz:

Thank you, I was rather impressed, seeing as a couple of months ago, mixed media was a measly biro and colouring pencils XD
Hopefully I'll get a good grade :P

I love the whole thing. The colors are so beautiful and it shows how good you are at mixed media. The composition in each panel is good and the composition of th whole peice is impeccable. I like that you alternated the tall and short format papers.

XD That's strange because I hate Mixed Media - Maybe I should do some more and try to like it more.

Thank you for the lovely comment! And here's a bit of information I forgot to put in my comment, I changed the sizes of the seasons depending on how much I like the season. The taller the format, the more I like the season. The smaller the format, the less I like that season.

Thank you again :)

My summer would have been HUGE lol. I think its cool that you did that. It adds a personal touch to the peice that makes it that much more special.

I have tendency to gravitate toward mixed media. Its mainly because I see a picture in my head and I try to use the optimal media for each component. It is sometimes hard for me to complete homogenous peices if it isnt ballpoint pen, acrylic, or oil pastels. Anything else tends to end up mixed media

Haha, I love how warm it is in summer. But I love the beautiful colours you get during Autumn (that's why it's my favourite season)
Yeah, I think a piece of art is rather meaningless if it doesn't have a personal touch to it. The picture can be amazing, but overall, the message behind it can be much more impressive.

I mainly stick to my trusty black biro and travel set of watercolours XD
But I understand your logic, you get a much greater effect if you use more than one media - Makes it more interesting.

Pen works well with everything, you can get an interesting effect if you use them with oil paints too. I was kinda...err...experimenting around... XD

Mind you, I love biro drawings on their own too. I've got a half-finished drawing of a house next to be that I'd done using black ball point.

Ive never tried it with oil paints.

I love all types of pen. Felt tip, nib, ballpoint, improvised drip pens. Have you ever tried to draw with a nib pen? It is really interesting, you can get so many great effects

I used black biro on an oil painting of a tulip I did for my portfolio, it gave amazing effetcs (It make my painting look more 3D) the only problem is that you need to let it dry properly before you unleash the biro on it. Oil paints take ages to dry.

I've never tried using a Nib pen, but I do know my mum has one that I can borrow.
